Manual Lymphatic Drainage

How does it work?

With gentle rhythmic moves towards the lymph nodes and by stimulating the lymphatic system it helps to eliminate toxins and excess water. The slow and gentle stroke brings about a feeling of relaxation.

What does it do?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) increases the secretion of serotonin, resulting in a feeling of well-being. The method accelerates the removal of waste products and toxins from the body; thus improving the immune system. With the stressful life most people lead today our immune system is constantly challenged, which makes MLD a fantastic treatment to keep a healthy immune system.

The job of the lymphatic system is to absorb excess interstitial fluid and return it to the venous system via the lymph nodes, which filter out any toxins. The lymphatic system also transports nutrients to cells and eliminates metabolic wastes, toxins and excess fluid from the body.

If you had lymph nodes removed by operations, have a condition where your lymph nodes are sluggish or if you just want to detox your body, manual lymphatic drainage is a great treatment.

Congestion in the lymphatic system can result in: frequent colds, persistent sinusitis, visible cellulite, fluid retention, spotty skin.

MLD can help to tone the skin and reduce puffiness around the eyes.

We recommend having about 6 treatments to have the best effect. Some people react quicker to it than others but after 6 treatments everyone should feel the difference. It works best in conjunction with a healthy diet, lifestyle and exercise routine. We highly recommend drinking more water during the day. If your cells are dehydrated your lymphatic system will become very sluggish.

For best results it is advised to have a 60 min treatment which will cover all lymphatic points.
